Inspiring & Being Inspired by the Next Generation
My son works for a local resources company. He loves his job and he’s proud of the quality of his work, and the contribution it makes to his company, to his State and to his Country.
There’s a great Jordan Davis country song – “Buy Dirt”- that has the line: “do what you love but call it work”. How lucky are we?
That’s why I love when we get a visit from Deploy Workforce Solutions like we did the other day. The young people are part of Deploy’s workplace transition program. The program gives young people a taste of different workplaces and different roles.

What’s really heartening for me, as someone nearer the other end of a long resource industry career, is how optimistic, enthusiastic and open to learning they are.
We’re grateful to have them visit us and remind us of the inherent joy in the work we do as well as the satisfaction we get from knowing we are contributing something of lasting value.
