When I’m out and about in Gladstone, my lovely wife and friends are well aware of my choice of funky, bright and colourful shirts. Those shirts were “somewhat unique” and have copped a few jibes over the years, as well as starting a few conversations.

These days, I’m delighted that bright colours have found their way into some workplaces – as a deliberate conversation starter about mental health and wellbeing. When I first started at work, those subjects were rarely considered, and even taboo in some workplaces. We now accept that, just as our bodies can become unwell, so can our minds and there’s a lot we can do to look after our mental health. I reckon it was a brilliant idea by “Trademutt” to use bright shirts to promote mental health awareness.
