Up Boat Creek
Some members of QER’s Retort Feed Test Unti (RFTU) Operations Team recently took some time out to work on the Boat Creek Rehabilitation Project.
QER has participated in this community project for several years. It is organized by the capricornia Catchments Inc and supported by government and a number of Gladstone industries.
The project involves rehabilitation of the banks of the creek with native species to improves biodiversity and minimize erosion. Its is one of many similar projects which together help reduce the sediment load in runoff, keep our waterways clean and ultmately help improve the health of the Great Barrier Reef.
It’s heartening to see industry, community and government working together to help achieve those important goals. QER is proud to be part of that effort.
