US Forces Get the Nod

US Forces Get the Nod

Recently we hosted a visit of US Navy Personnel to QER’s New Fuels Development Centre. Their ship, the USS John Canley is an “expeditionary mobile base” carrying helicopters, and command and communications systems. It called into Gladstone on the way to the international defence exercise “Talisman Sabre”.

We were very pleased to welcome the personnel and they were interested in the future strategic importance of on-shore fuel resources like QER’s proposed kerogen fuels project.

In fact, there is a long, historical connection between our project and the US Navy. QER’s Paraho processing technology has evolved from technology developed by a US Navy led consortium – developed in Colorado USA to help improve fuel security in the US.

QER is now working to do the same thing here in Queensland: to ensure the reliability of the fuel supplies that are the blood supply for our key industries like agriculture, mining, tourism and construction; for our communities, especially regional communities like Gladstone; and for Australia’s defence.
