Winter is Coming – No, I Think it’s Here!
We’re fortunate to live in Central Queensland. Walking my dog Borris at dusk recently, I felt a slight chill despite the clear skies and setting sun. In shorts, a T-shirt, and a light jacket, I thought about how mild our winters are compared to other parts of the world, where people face extreme cold, snow, and limited daylight.
In those Regions, staying warm depends on reliable energy – electricity, wood, coal, and fuel oil. Cold related deaths exceed 4.5 million globally each year, underscoring the importance of a resilient energy mix.
Relying on a single energy source has inherent risks associated with it.
That’s why QER remains committed to supporting a reliable energy future – albeit in our case, in the form of reliable transport fuel.
Personally, I’m grateful that here in CQ, throwing on some uggies and tracky daks is enough for me to stay warm and greet the morning sun.
Borris enjoys his walks and I think he was more tired than me after this one.
