One of the joys of my role at QER is being able to support some wonderful volunteer work in our community, which goes towards making Gladstone the special place it is.
QER recently provided some funding for SHY (Softly Helping You) – a group that organizes social outings for dementia sufferers and their carers. SHY’s incredible volunteers started the group with their own money. It was amazing to see first hand what a difference a little social interaction makes in the lives of the people and thier carers.
QER was also recently proud to again sponsor the Central Queensland Special Children’s Christmas Party.
The volunteer organizers of that event work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure every child experiences a wonderful end of year celebration.
I feel very lucky to live in such a generous community and work for a company that sees the importance of supporting the wonderful work done by so many hard-working volunteers.
