Telling Our Story
As you might know, QER has a Visitors Centre at our Yarwun Technology Demonstration facility.
One of the parts of my job that I really enjoy is sharing QER’s Story with the visitors from the Gladstone community and from all around Australia.
I’ve found most people are really interested in our Company’s significant investment over many years to develop a new, Australian transport fuel source that will be vital to Australia in the future.
This has especially been the case in the light of the current global energy crisis, which worries a lot of us.
It’s very heartening to know and appreciate the vital role that accessible, affordable transport fuel plays in all our lives.
Many people I’ve met at the Centre share our concerns about Australia having to rely on imports for our fuel well into the future.
They also seem to share our excitement that part of the solution to securing our fuel supplies is right under our feet here, and that we are working to make that a reality.
Then of course, many people are interested in how it all works: how the kerogen was formed in ancient lakes, through to how we convert it into high quality transport fuel in a clean and sustainable process.
