QER is again this year a proud sponsor and participant in Gladstone Ecofest. This year’s theme is ‘Turn a new leaf , love our reef’. It’s a terrific community event in which families, community groups, local business and industry come together to celebrate the amazing environment we live in and to focus on initiatives to keep it that way.

We’ll be giving away our popular shopping bags, which will be very handy with the phasing out of supermarket plastic bags happening soon. That’s a positive initiative which helps keep harmful plastic out of our marine waterways.

We’ll also be giving visitors to the QER tent the chance to win a family day trip to Lady Elliott Island for 2 adults and 2 children valued at $650. It’s a wonderful opportunity for your family to enjoy the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef first hand.

To enter the draw, we’re asking you to come up with an original slogan or catch-phrase which reflects QER’s vision. That is, to safely and sustainably develop Australia’s on-shore kerogen fuel resources to help replace the imported fuel and oil shipped tens of thousands of kilometers across our oceans every year.

And for the kids, look out for the ever popular QER yo-yos and for the first time, fidget spinners.
